This major work is based on folk tunes from Chapala, Jalisco and Guadalajara as heard by Dr. Reed during visits to these areas in the late 1940s. Previously only available for orchestra on rental, LA FIESTA MEXICANA was originally written for concert band and later rescored for orchestra by the composer.
